GGUSC News
Since the inception of Goalgetters Soccer Park in early 2002, the need for funding for operating expenses, and for capital expenditures for equipment and infrastructure, has become evident. Fundraising is now very much part of our way of doing business and growing the club. The club has begun the process of writing its first request for grant dollars from Wisconsin-based foundations. If you have any experience in writing grant proposals and can give us some advice, or just want to help in this important endeavor, please contact Jim Becka at 684-3689 or lbecka@ameritech.net
Every new soccer year we become aware of kids in our community who simply cannot afford to pay the participation fee for playing on the Goalgetters competitive soccer teams. While we try to maintain this fee as low as possible, with the establishment of Goalgetters Soccer Park, our overhead expenses are a harsh reality. We try to work out ways to help these kids be able to play, but the fact remains that the fee is a barrier, and we lose good kids. The club has established a policy to help out kids in this situation. Its called the Scholarship Fund Policy, and it is downloadable for your viewing by clicking on the REGISTER link above. The program relies on your tax-deductible donations which will be placed in an account segregated from our operating funds. This account is dedicated solely toward scholarships. applicants for GGSC scholarships need to fill out a simple form that is brought to the club board for consideration |
